There are three individual instrumental competitions at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru with generous cash prizes for the winner to enable them to develop and invest in their studies for the future. The registration deadline is May 1st. What about also encouraging them to register for the Instrumental Ensemble competition for groups of between 2 and 6 instrumentalists? Over the weekend, the Three Counties Choir and Orchestra came together at Ysgol Aberteifi to rehearse for the first time a brand new piece by royal composer Paul Mealor, set to words by the bard Menna Elfyn. 'Angerdd a Cherdd' has been written specifically for young musicians, and we cannot wait for you to heEisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymruhe pavillion at Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru in Pembrokeshire in August. 150 pupils from Sir Gar, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion will take part in the ensemble project, which is funded by the Welsh Government through the National Plan for Music Education.
